Description & Key Features
Celebrate the timeless joy of winter snow days with this authentic antique primitive handcrafted wooden child's runner sled. Measuring 33 inches long by 14 inches wide, this late 19th / early 20th-century folk-art sled is built from solid American ash and hardwood planks, anchored atop a pair of graceful, continuous steam-bent wood runners that sweep up dramatically at the nose. The top deck features four smoothly rounded seat slats reinforced beneath by heavy arched timber cross-braces, flanked by elevated side safety handrails showing lovely, authentic remnants of historic barn-red paint. Outfitted with its original front tie-bar and remnant tow cord, this piece exhibits rich, honest patina—including weathered grain, surface scuffs, and natural oxidation—that only decades of genuine snowy hillsides can bestow. Whether leaned beside a stone hearth, displayed on a covered winter porch draped with evergreen boughs, or hung as wall art in a ski lodge, it brings heartfelt nostalgic warmth to any country home.
