A remarkable survivor of early American textile craft, this authentic 19th-century primitive "clock reel" yarn winder (traditionally known as a "weasel") embodies the honest ingenuity of 1800s frontier and farmstead life. Hand-hewn from native hardwood, this tabletop/floor tripod winder features six spoke arms with turned yarn pegs, an upright mortised central shaft, and a wonderful hand-scribed wooden counting dial with its original hand-carved wooden pointer. As the spinner cranked the cross-arms, the internal wooden worm gear advanced the hand around the dial to measure yardage and signal when a standard skein had been wound—the exact mechanical marvel that gave rise to the folk song "Pop Goes the Weasel." Displaying a warm, untouched honey patina, original hand-turned splayed tripod legs, and authentic rustic wear, this museum-worthy piece makes an unforgettable decorative focal point for any farmhouse, hearthside, or heritage collection.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
